Ode to Schiele

When I thought of valentine's day, a holiday I pretty much loathe, I couldn't help but think about the seemingly hyper-eroticized images of Egon Schiele. Something about those images, however, makes me feel uncomfortable-perhaps because many of them are quasi pornographic and grotesque. Here is a collection (or a "raccolta," if you will!) of images of women that Schiele made that I find pretty captivating. Several of them seem a bit voyeuristic, reminiscent of Degas' bath women. I've been collecting them on my desktop for a while now, and thought it was about time I share them.
